The Natural Choice

It is now possible to arrange a natural funeral, taking comfort in the knowledge that every aspect has been carefully considered to minimise its impact on the environment.

Choosing The Ultimate Green Funeral Plan not only assists your loved ones, but also makes a positive statement of intent to help preserve the world in which we live.

The plan can include options for natural and biodegradable coffins made of sustainable materials including wood, willow and wool. There is also an option for a Reflections coffin, which may be personalised with a design or image of your choosing. Click here for details.

The entire carbon footprint of a funeral service may be offset by tree planting in conservation areas or by donating funds to preserve endangered rainforests around the world. Additionally, on your behalf, Golden Leaves funeral plans will even contribute to an environmental fund that combats climate change for the benefit of future generations.

You may take out The Ultimate Green Funeral Plan at any age without a medical or health-check. It is a simple process to plan a green funeral today, and then get on with living! And we’re here to help you every
step of the way.

There are three categories from which to choose: the Glade, Meadow or Woodland. Each differs in the level of services provided by the funeral director, the number of vehicles required and the type/ style of coffin selected. The cost of the Funeral Director’s services are guaranteed to be met in full.

National Memorial

By opting for The Ultimate Green Funeral Plan, you are already taking steps to minimise the impact of carbon dioxide emissions on the environment.

When selecting your plan, you may choose one of the following memorials:

  • Option A :

    Plant a Tree of Life
A memorial tree will be delivered to your address, along with a planting guide, wood stake, engraved name plate and tree guard. One tree is included with this option, but you may nominate more than one memorial tree at a small additional cost.

  • Option B :

    Woodland Conservation
On selecting this option, a sapling will be donated for planting in woodland that is being renovated or established in the UK. You will receive a certificate and the project details relating to your gift.

  • Option C :

    Supporting the Rainforest
Alternatively, you may sponsor a tree in a rainforest which needs protection from commercial exploitation.

Go one step further with our Community Legacy

Golden Leaves will convert the financial equivalent of a typical funeral’s carbon emissions into a community legacy on your behalf, which helps fund the installation of energy efficient measures in the homes of the elderly and those most in need.

Our Community Legacy fund is managed by Groundwork, the environmental regeneration charity who work locally, regionally and nationally to tackle climate change.

Disbursements

These plans do NOT include any funds to cover third party costs* such as Crematorium or Cemetery fees, Clergy or Church fees. Should you wish to contribute towards these costs, please call us to discuss. Any sum paid towards these costs are guaranteed to be met in line with any increase in the Retail Price Index (RPI), but may require an additional top-up payment from your estate if this has been exceeded at the time of the funeral.
